What do
you do when the Holy Spirit puts a desire on your heart, but the way seems impossible?
In the fall of 2008, Michael and Lisa wanted to follow God’s call to adopt, but financially they needed help. That’s when they turned to Lifesong for Orphans and got in contact with Louisville Oprhan Care Alliance (formerly LOCI).
Through the adoption fund that OCA developed with Lifesong, we were given a $3,000 matching grant. With that matching grant we raised a total of $11,000! The response was overwhelming. What an amazing experience! To KNOW that you were doing what God wanted you to do, and to SEE Him working it out is incredible!

This is to invite any interested adoptive mothers to an upcoming Created to Connect Bible study, which will held on Wednesday evenings at Highview’s East campus, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., beginning August 18th. This Bible study is designed to encourage strong and lasting connections with children who have been adopted from hard places. As we study God’s Word, we will explore the importance of having realistic expectations, and will develop tools and strategies to connect with our children as we help them heal and become all that God intends for them to be. As adoptive parents, we must remain deeply rooted in His Word on a daily basis!
Please feel free to email Kimber Graves at kgraves@bethany.org or call her at 812-786-1236 with any questions.
Praise to God for the acknowledgement of the work OCA does with Jefferson County Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the fatherless of our community. Thanks to everyone who serves the fatherless through the OCA!
